Last year was a big year for Albury House Interiors, lets take a look back over the past 12 months...
January:
After 18 months of trading we decided that it was time for a total refresh. What was formally known as Chordal Green Home was reintroduced as Albury House Interiors.
February:
The was the beginning of the construction of our coffeeshop. We began by removing the wall panels and cutting 2 large holes in the wall, which would eventually become dividing shelving units.
From here it was all systems go over the next few months, the room was insulted and plumbed and had a bespoke kitchen space manufactured and installed by Chordal Green (of course!).
March & April:
Over the next couple of months whilst our coffeeshop was still under construction, we put a lot of our time into sourcing new products from suppliers across the UK. We attended open days and trade shows and really took the time to pick out products that were on brand for us.
May:
Skipping right through to May, Albury House Interiors attended its first ever Bank Holiday Fair. This was a new and exciting venture for us, as holding a stall is very different to being in our showroom. Located in the high streets of Sawbridgeworth, it was great to see so many of our customers and meet some new faces. The weather even warmed up for us, making it an even more lovely day!
June:
The half way point of 2024... our sister company Chordal Green were given the opportunity to manufacture bespoke joinery for a prestigious event in London - the Wow!House exhibition at the Chelsea Design Centre.
Chordal Green have worked alongside Andrea Benedettini on many projects over the years but this was something a little more personal, so we were very proud to of been involved. Working from initial concept to the final room, we brought his vision to life for this space.
July:
As the summer sun started making a brief appearance, our coffeeshop was finally ready to open its doors and serve beautiful coffees.
Marcella and Rory at Coffee Officina have been roasting speciality coffees on the farm for over 10 years, their experience and knowledge is incredible and we are so glad to have them on board!
The coffee shop (Ratio Cafe) is currently open Tuesday-Friday 9-12pm, if you'd like to pop by and try one of their delicious lattes or cappuccinos!
September:
As September quickly came around, we celebrated one year since we opened our showroom here in Matching Tye. The first 12 months went by in a flash, and we took time to reflect on how far we have come in this time.
As well as this, we were busy making preparations for our first pop up in the Herts and Essex Antiques Centre based in Sawbridgeworth. We fitted out the room with taupe coloured panels to mirror our showroom, then carefully handpicked a small capsule collection of items, to ensure it was in keeping with the other items on offer there.
October:
A big month for us, celebrating all things spooky and debuting our products in the iconic Corinthia Hotel London. We were approached by a lovely interior designer from Argenta Projects when they were in the final stages of renovating 30 suites across the hotel. They needed moss bowls to finish off the almost completed bathrooms, and of course we were happy to help. We are over the moon to have them on display in this beautiful hotel, let us know if you have spotted any!
November:
As the Christmas countdown began, we started to think about our products and how we wanted to present our showroom over the festive period. We hung wreaths and bunches of mistletoe, and were soon approached by a client to ask if we'd like to showcase some of our products in the Christmas Ideal Home Show exhibition. We jumped at the chance after attending the show in previous years, and were delighted to have our cushions and small decorative items featured in the show house and on the website.
December:
The final stretch of the year, lots of Christmas orders going out to our lovely customers and clients, and as always - plenty going on here at the showroom!
We hosted our very first calligraphy workshop at the beginning of the month, which completely sold out! Each person who attended left full of mulled wine and mince pies, with their own beautifully hand decorated, personalised bauble.
We also participated in two local Christmas Fairs (Sawbridgeworth and St Nicholas') helping the last-minute shoppers secure their gifts and further spreading the word about our showroom.
All in all, we are very proud of what our little shop has achieved in the last 12 months, and we are only hoping that this year will bring just as many wins.
As always, we thank each and every one of you for supporting us - whether it be through purchases, reading our blogs, or even your follows and likes on our social media. Here's to 2025!
